'Stranger Things' Mashed-Up With 'IT' and 'Hellraiser' is Perfect

Other '80s horror characters sneak in too.

A new interdimensional portal has opened up in Hawkins, Indiana, and all manner of classic ‘80s horror icons are invading to threaten the Stranger Things kids.

On August 18, YouTuber Josh Nitsch uploaded new fan-made video titled “Slasher Things.” Combining footage from all sorts of ‘80’s horror movies the video cuts seamlessly with the latest Stranger Things season 2 trailer. This time, Will Byers is threatened by more than just visions of the Upside Down and a dark apocalypse.

There’s Michael Myers from Halloween, Pinhead from Hellraiser, Freddy Krueger, Chucky, the clown from Stephen King’s IT, and other decades-old killers. In case that doesn’t frighten you enough, more recent horror icons like Jigsaw from Saw and the Creeper from Jeepers Creepers make appearances.

The opening to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” is thrown in for good measure, and Ash from the Evil Dead franchise pops up with his chainsaw arm to help the good guys. The end result of the whole thing is a totally horrifying homage that somehow gels together really well, probably because Stranger Things already looks like an ‘80s film to begin with. The evil character team-up or murderers and demons would feel right at home in the Upside Down.

Stranger Things Season 2 hits Netflix on October 27.
