James O'Malley

James O’Malley is a freelance journalist and writer who covers technology and politics.

He was previously the editor of Gizmodo UK and has since written for a wide range of outlets including The Spectator, Politico EU, PC Pro Magazine, Wired, The Telegraph, New Statesman, and many others.

James writes the Odds and Ends of History newsletter where he breaks down big ideas and try to explain clearly how we should think about them. He deliberately covers a wide range of topics, ranging from politics, to policy, to explaining why people on Twitter are talking nonsense.

He can mostly be found today endlessly scrolling Twitter, doing his best to ruin everyone’s fun when a misleading tweet goes viral.
