Doge, Bestie, Feels: Dictionary.com Adds 150 New Words to Its Ever-Growing List

TBH few of these words will give you the feels IRL but Dictionary.com knows they're a chance to appear on fleek.

Know Your Meme

Dictionary of the people Dictionary.com has announced it has added more than a hundred new words and revised more than a thousand. You’re not likely to see these in bounded volumes of the Oxford English Dictionary quite yet but you have probably seen a bunch of them throughout your Twitter feed.

The new words essentially stem from three categories: social media, technological innovation, and cultural conversations surrounding gender and sexuality. They span from the highbrow to lowbrow (“neurodiversity” vs. “nerf”) with a few so ubiquitous in culture that it’s surprising they weren’t considered already (“drunk text”). But while your gut reaction to words like “kk” may be closer to kids-these-days fist shaking than admiration , it’s important to remember we need to invent new words. It makes society richer and your brain smarter. And that should give you all the feels.

Here’s a sampling of the new words judged by Inverse for important categories, like probability of making it into the next decade and likely use by a tween. These are the words of the future, guys.
