'Daredevil' Season 4 Story: Marci and Foggy Would Have Gotten Married

"Sadly none of those things happened," Amy Rutberg tells Inverse.

Netflix’s decision to cancel Daredevil leaves fans with plenty of unanswered questions about where the show and its characters were headed next. We’ll probably never know the answer to most of those unresolved stories, but there’s one big question that we can now safely answer thanks to the help of one of the show’s stars: What happens to Marci and Foggy?

In an interview, Amy Rutberg (Marci Stahl on the Netflix/Marvel universe) tells Inverse where the two characters would have ended up if Daredevil was allowed to continue into seasons 4 and 5.

“From a personal level, I would have loved to see what would have happened with Marci and Foggy,” Rutberg says. “I would have liked to see them get married. There probably would have been some conflict before, but sadly none of those things happened.”

The actor, who also plays a character called “The Angel” on NCIS: New Orleans, adds that based on the end of Season 3 she was also excited to see the show’s core team back in action in Daredevil Season 4.

“It would have been great to see now that the band was back together,” she says. “It would have been great to see what happened with them. See them start the season working together and see where that went.”

Despite the show’s abrupt end, Rutberg still looks back fondly on her time in the Netflix/Marvel universe and seems excited for what’s next.

“I’m definitely looking for the next job, sadly, now that Daredevil’s over,” she says. “That’s the life of an actor. It’s been fun to do three seasons and see the arch of the character. It’s been a blessing.

Daredevil might be done, but the Netflix/Marvel universe continues (for now) with The Punisher Season 2, expected in January 2019.
