'Rick and Morty' and 'Fallout 76' Epic Crossover Is Happening on Twitch

No this is not a joke.

Rick and Morty love video games — Morty’s really into Minecraft, and Rick’s obsessed with Roy: A Life Well-Lived, so much so that he even retrofit the hardware into an immersive game of Dungeons & Dragons in the comics. But very soon, they’re venturing over into the world of Fallout 76.

Fallout 76 developer Bethesda announced Friday that on November 8, the Rick and Morty will team up with famed Fortnite streamer Ninja and the rapper Logic. The four of them will murder and loot their way through the wastelands of Fallout 76’s West Virginia, and maybe they’ll set off a few nukes along the way.

Okay, let’s face it. Rick and Morty aren’t actually going to be playing Fallout 76 on Thursday because they’re fictional characters, but much like how the duo presented an Emmy Award in September, Rick and Morty co-creator Justin Roiland will lend his authentic vocals for the purpose of the livestream.

But while we get a live feed of Ninja and Logic playing the game, what will we see for the other two?

Must Watch:

Maybe we’ll see an ongoing animated video of Morty and Rick playing video games? Or maybe there won’t be any video for them at all.

Rick and Morty and Adult Swim have already dabbled in the realm of faux video game livestreams before, but this new instance is taking things a step further.

On the Galactic Federation website, originally created to tease Rick and Morty Season 3, a Garblovian plays a video game called 10 Tuesdays at Tinkles’ that’s just a spoof on Five Nights at Freddy’s. His entire livestream is set up identical to Twitch and his nonsensical alien ramblings are sublime.

If the Rick and Morty animation team can make something like this for an obscure laugh, then they can totally animate a couple hours of Morty and Rick playing video games on Xbox One with headsets on.

Anyone can watch the livestream via Bethesda’s Twitch or Mixer channels.

The next Fallout 76 B.E.T.A. session will take place on Saturday, November 3 from 5 p.m. Eastern to 9 p.m. Eastern for anyone who pre-ordered the game, and the game’s full release happens on November 14, 2018 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

Never forget Roy: A Life Well-Lived, one of the best jokes Rick and Morty has ever delivered.
