'Stranger Things' Season 3 Casting Call Reveals a Possible Spoilers

We still don’t know much about Stranger Things Season 3, which is set to hit Netflix next summer, but a recent update may provide a little more insight into what you can expect when the series finally does return in 2019.

According to a casting call spotted by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Stranger Things is looking for marching band members for a specific scene (or scenes) from Season 3. Specifically, the show needs “former African-American band members between 18 and 30.” You’ll also need real-life marching band experience to make the cut.

What does this mean? Well, to state the obvious, it means we’ll see some sort of marching band in Stranger Things Season 3. But let’s dig a little deeper.

So, first of all, that age window is interesting. It suggests that we’re looking at a professional marching band, or at least a college band — but definitely not a bunch of high school kids. There’s also been a fair amount of speculation that Stranger Things Season 3 will take place during the summer, mostly due to that one scene from the teaser where Steve scoops ice cream.

So it seems unlikely that this marching band has anything to do with school. In that case, what’s going on?

One possibility is that this particular scene could have less to do with our Hawkins, Indiana heroes and more to do with the mysterious conspiracy around Eleven’s origins. Season 2 features one (poorly reviewed) episode focused on exploring that story, so maybe Season 3 will do the same.

Of course, this is all speculation, but until Netflix comes out with a legitimate trailer for Stranger Things Season 3, it’s the best we can do.
