U.S. Teacher Appreciation Week 2018: How to Score Free Chipotle and More

Delicious eats at a bargain.

With this year’s Teacher Appreciation Week now fully underway, Monday’s Google Doodle paid homage to the educators nationwide who “have and continue to dedicate their lives to the intellectual and personal development of students.” But a Google Doodle shout-out isn’t the only perk teachers will see this week: Chipotle will offer a BOGO special to instructors on Teacher Appreciation Day.

Snagging a free burrito this week is simple. The special will run at participating locations across the United States and Canada on Tuesday, May 8 between 3 p.m. and close (local time). Teachers need only show a valid faculty ID in-restaurant to nab the buy-one, get-one special on burritos, bowls, salads, or an order of tacos.

Chipotle notes on its website that it will accept identification “or other documentation” from anyone identifying as faculty or staff at a preschool, elementary school, middle school, high school, community college, or university. And homeschoolers, that includes you too! The chain said it will accept valid homeschool ID cards as well.

If Chipotle isn’t your bag, fear not: There are plenty of other teacher freebies and deals on delicious eats happening this week. Participating Chick-fil-A locations will offer a free chicken sandwich (or any hot entrée) to teachers on Tuesday. Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers is serving up a free box combo with a valid school ID. And for East Coasters, MOD Pizza is offering 50 percent off pizzas or salad on Teacher Appreciation Day.

Additionally, it’s worth checking the social media accounts of your favorite local joints to see if any of them are also participating in Teacher Appreciation Week.

Teacher Appreciation Week will continue through Friday, May 11, according to the National Parent Teacher Association. If you’re one of our nation’s educators, don’t miss out on the chance to snag a freebie!
