Lawyer Morty Finally Comes to 'Pocket Mortys'

Lawyer Morty demands a retrial!

When Rick and Morty had a surprise Season 3 premiere on April 1, one of the best new characters introduced to the show was the gentle and lovable Lawyer Morty. Immediately, fans of the show and its accompanying mobile Pokémon clone, Pocket Mortys, clamored for his addition to the game. Now, the super-casual Morty that dresses up as a lawyer for kicks has finally made it to Pocket Mortys after an update rolling out this week.

The news came earlier today from the official Pocket Mortys Twitter account.

In Pocket Mortys, players assume the role of Rick Sanchez as he battles other trainers and tries to capture over 200 Morty variants that include Cronenberg Morty, Pizza Morty, Crazy Cat Morty, and now, the beloved Lawyer Morty.

Other new additions to the game’s roster include several Ricks featured in the Season 3 premiere, but also the Judge Morty that resided over the animated version of the truly absurd transcript from The State of Georgia v. Denver Fenton Allen court case.

Fans love Lawyer Morty because of his serene smile, affable nature, and enthusiasm for Pogs. He’s a bumbling, goofy alternative to the high-strung Morty at the center of the show. Known for his gelled hair, unkempt suit, and the stack of papers he often tosses up into the air for just for laughs, Lawyer Morty is kept as a court jester of sorts by the Council of Ricks “because he’s fun.”

It’s almost too bad that he probably died when Rick took down both the Citadel of Ricks and the Galactic Federation Prison in “The Rickshank Redemption.” At least he’ll live on in Pocket Mortys.

As Rick and Morty Season 3 continues on Sunday, July 30 at 11:30 p.m. Eastern on Adult Swim, Pocket Mortys will have weekly updates that add new characters from Season 3 to the game.
