Chelsea Szmania
Chelsea is a freelance copy editor and Western Massachusetts-based manager of editorial operations-revenue for the Bustle Digital Group brands, working behind the scenes on a wide range of topics, from up-and-comers in music and entertainment to maintaining mental health during pregnancy and the latest and greatest in beauty innovation. When she isn’t working on the back end, she is helping to promote the incredible work of her colleagues on a daily basis. Prior to working in media, Chelsea studied literature and journalism at Suffolk University, earning her B.A. in English. Afterward, she attended New York University’s Summer Publishing Institute, an immersive graduate program, where she received a certificate in book, magazine, and digital media publishing. Chelsea also holds a career advancement badge in copy editing from NYU's School of Professional Studies. She has written and copy edited for BDG’s online magazine Inverse as well as copy edited for MindBodyGreen, an online health and wellness publication. She has also worked as a fact checker on Emma Loewe’s “Return to Nature: The New Science of How Natural Landscapes Restore Us.” When not defending the Oxford comma, Chelsea is eating pasta, playing with puppies, exploring all the Berkshires has to offer, and volunteering at her local community theater.
