As much as we might enjoy their company, there are times when we simply have no choice but to leave our pets home alone. Luckily, despite the distance involved, modern technology allows us to check in on our four-legged friends even while we’re out and about. And while there’s no shortage of affordable cameras that can be used to keep tabs on our cats and dogs, the innovative Petcube Bites system takes monitoring our pets to a whole new level.
As you might expect, the Petcube Bites is equipped with an HD camera and two-way audio, allowing pet owners to see and hear their fury friends from anywhere in the world with an Internet connection. But these features have been combined with a built-in app-controlled dispenser capable of tossing a variety of pet treats up to six feet with just the push of a button. This makes Petcube Bites more than a simple audio-enabled HD camera. It’s an interactive monitoring system that allows pet owners to remotely communicate and play with their pets, and reward them for good behavior even when they’re nowhere near home.
As mentioned above, the treat dispenser works via the Petcube Bites smartphone app, and can toss treats as far as six feet. However, if you’re too busy to control the app yourself, the device can also be programed to release treats automatically at per-scheduled intervals, so your pet will never miss a snack.
The built-in camera features 1080p HD video with a 138° wide-angle view. It also comes equipped with night vision, which means keeping track of your cats or dogs won’t be a problem, even in the dark. It offers cloud-based video storage and timeline history, as well as the ability to easily and instantly share pictures and videos with friends and family, or on your favorite social media networks.
The Petcube Bites works with Amazon Alexa and other smart home devices, so you can use voice commands to pick different settings. This seamless Alexa integration also allows the Petcube to automatically reorder compatible pet treats via Amazon.com if supplies run low, provided you’ve already approved this feature in the app. And its detachable treat container holds up to 100 one-inch treats, and is dishwasher safe up to 130’F.
The Petcube Bites can also be mounted on your wall via the enclosed wall-mounting kit, or placed on a table, shelf, or other flat, elevated surface. Lastly, the sleekly designed device is available in three different colors, so you can pick the best option to fit your existing room style and decor.
