'Fortnite' Leaks Reveal Quad Launcher, Suppressed SCAR, and Flamethrower

Those are some big guns.

As expected, Thursday’s v5.30 update contained a lot of content for Fortnite: Battle Royale, but not everything is ready to be seen. After its release, data miners inspected the files added by Epic Games and discovered three new weapons will make their way to the game.

On Thursday, data miner Fortnitee_Leaks tweeted the new weapons found in the v5.30 update. They are the Quad Launcher, suppressed SCAR, and a Flamethrower. Each weapon could potentially do some big damage to players, but that remains to be seen.

The Quad Launcher is, like many weapons previously, available in Fortnite: Save the World and will now make the jump to the battle royale mode. As it names says, the launcher stores four rockets at once. Epic will have likely paid extra attention to how this game would affect the meta for the game before they officially release it.

When it comes to assault rifles, the SCAR is a favorite among Fortnite: Battle Royale players. It’s accurate and does solid damage from a long distance. Having a suppressed version will let players get the jump on their opponents, which can be beneficial from long distance.

The real wildcard of the three is the Flamethrower. If it’s a close range weapon, then it’ll need to compare to the Shotguns and Miniguns in regards to its effectiveness. Epic could use the Flamethrower as a more situational weapon by making it destroy structures with ease or allow it to do continuous damage. It’s unclear how the developer will proceed with this weapon, but players asked for this weapon months ago and Epic delivered.

When these weapons will release is unknown as of now. They could release next week or several weeks from now. Also, as the case with content found by data miners, there’s a chance a weapon may not see the light of day as Epic decides they’re too overpowered for Fortnite: Battle Royale.

If these new weapons come out, expect them to be used in the Weekly Challenges. This week’s tasks mark the first time players will have to complete multiple stages in order to earn their Battle Stars.
