‘Fortnite’ Could Come Out of Early Access Very Soon, New Leak Claims

No need to buy the Founder's Pack.

When talking about the game Fortnite, most will think of its battle royale mode, which continues to bring in big money for developer Epic Games. There is another mode called Save the World that has players going up against monsters in co-op play and requires a purchase to play it, but this may change in the future.

Data miner FNBRLeaks tweeted Saturday that Fortnite: Save the World may be available for free this season, which is currently Season 5. They did not provide any extra evidence and simply said to check back in a couple of weeks. While it may seem unlikely for Epic to give up the $39.99 for the Founder’s Pack required to play Save the World, events in Fortnite: Battle Royale does give some credibility to this prediction.

This past Saturday, a Rift appeared in Fortnite: Battle Royale at the same spot where the giant Tomato Head disappeared in Season 4. At the same time, players in Save the World noticed a giant evil clown head above the pizzeria in this version of the game. The expectation was the clown head would appear in Fortnite: Battle Royale in replacement of the giant Tomato Head.

That was not the case on Sunday when a Rift exploded and left in its wake a smaller, brown version of the Tomato Head. This left many confused, but at the same time, players in Save the World discovered a small, pristine Tomato Head surrounded by gnomes.

With the Fortnite: Battle Royale Season 5 theme called “Worlds Collide,” making Save the World free could be the culmination of the season. In return for their purchase, Epic might give away V-Bucks and other freebies, however, it’s still early to say if this will actually happen at all.

This week could be a big week for the Season 5 storyline, especially with the delayed release of the weekly update.
