The successor to the OnePlus 5 series will likely be followed by an improved “T” version of the phone like OnePlus did for its previous OnePlus 5T and OnePlus 3T.
Customers in India and China can even get a flashy, Avengers-themed version of the phone. But gimmicks aside, every new smartphone release begs the question: Should you switch?

If you’re looking for more bang for your buck, the OnePlus 6 is the winner by a long shot. You can pick a new one for $529, while the iPhone X starts at $999 and can be priced as high as $1,149 for the 258-gigabyte model.
Ars Technica described the OnePlus 6 as “generic” with a few “downgrades” from its predecessor. The Verge also said that it’s the same phone with “the same problems.” But one message was resounding, it’s so damn cheap compared to the iPhone X that you can pretty much write off the fine-tuning issues.
The upcoming follow-up of the iPhone X might be priced as low as $799, which would make it majorly more affordable than the current model.

The OnePlus 6 comes equipt with a 6.28-inch OLED display with a notch, that’s a bit of an upgrade compared to the OnePlus 5T’s 6.01-inch screen.
The iPhone X takes another L in this department with its 5.8-inch OLED screen. But Apple is rumored to be developing a iPhone X Plus, which could bring a 6.5-inch OLED screen bundled up in an iPhone X chassis that could cost $999.

OnePlus’ new release has a dual 16+20-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization and a 16-megapixel front camera for all your selfie needs.
The iPhone X once again falls short, clocking in at a dual 12-megapixel rear camera and 7-megapixel front-facing camera. Of course, the iPhone X has the coveted Portrait Mode, which lets users made professional-grade photo edits right from their phone. But when it comes to straight photo quality, the OnePlus 6 takes the cake.

Now for the nitty-gritty. The OnePlus 6 runs on Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 845 chipset and has up to 8GB of RAM. Its 3,300 mAh battery is said to be an improvement from the OnePlus 5T’s battery life. The back of the phone is also all-glass, which is typically used to enable wireless charging. Strangely the OnePlus doesn’t support this feature, which left reviewers and users wondering why this design choice was made. Finally, it comes with dual nano-SIM capabilities, so you can seamlessly swap between phone carriers if you travel a lot.
The iPhone X runs on Apple’s proprietary “A11” chipset and comes with 3GB of RAM. Its 2,716mAh battery gives it a shorter battery life than the OnePlus 6, but the iPhone supports wireless charging so you can juice it up by just resting it somewhere. The iPhone X does not offer dual-SIM capabilities, so you’ll have to switch your card manually every time.
After a report revealed Apple has started production of its new chips, we have an idea of what will go into the next iPhones — the rumored X Plus said to drop in 2018. This new chipset, dubbed A12, will use a new 7-nanometer design that beats the existing 10-nanometer chips in the iPhone X, so expect Apple’s new phones to pack a whole lot more punch moving forward.
