'Rick and Morty' Season 4 Is Forever Away, So Maybe This Will Help You Deal

There are other shows!

Rick and Morty’s fourth season is highly anticipated by the Adult Swim show’s legions of fans, but it seems like those fans are gonna have to keep anticipating Season 4 for a long, long, time, because there isn’t a premiere date on the horizon. Heck, Rick and Morty hasn’t even officially been renewed yet, according to creators Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon. Luckily, it turns out that there are other shows that people can watch, as explained in a new Screenprism video.

Do you like Rick and Morty because you enjoy the dynamic between an insufferable genius and his sweet-hearted sidekick? Screenprism recommends something like Sherlock or House. Other recommendations are based on different aspects of the show’s appeal, including “surreal comedy & over-the-top weirdness,” “British comedy style,” “Justin Roiland’s improvisational style,” and “Dan Harmon’s cerebral humor.” Other categories include “pop culture referentiality,” “Sci-Fi that’s philosophical and dark,” and “Sci-Fi that’s funny.” Of course, part of Rick and Morty’s appeal is that it has all of these things, but then again, so do many of the shows Screenprism* suggests.

Among the recommendations are Aqua Teen Hunger Force (another Adult Swim joint), Community, Futurama, Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams, and The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, because, well, read a book.

Check out the video above. Hopefully, you’ll find something to like that’ll keep you busy until Season 4 premieres, assuming that ever happens.
