The Internet is Flipping Out Over These Photos of Trump in a Truck

Most of these didn't even need to be photoshopped.

It’s difficult to remember a more trying time in American politics than the one the country’s going through now.

This week, Republicans are clashing over their bill to replace the Affordable Care Act; the White House budget is threatening to cut some funding to Meals on Wheels, and the Senate Judiciary Committee is in the midst of confirmation hearings for Neil Gorscush, who Senate democrats said will filibuster. Meanwhile, the investigation into Trump’s Russian ties is heating up, with California Representative Adam Schiff, ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, saying “there is more than circumstantial evidence now.”

Yes, it is time for Americans to put their serious hats on, and the last thing anybody needs is a frivolous story about memes. But it seems like President Donald Trump had other ideas.

The president on Thursday met with a group of truckers and CEOs from the American Trucking Associations in the White House. After the meeting, Trump was given the opportunity that every elementary school kid craves: Sit in the driver’s seat of a big rig and honk the horn.

How could he resist? How could anyone? Maybe just don't bring photographers.

In a move that the Trump administration should be able to predict by now, the internet, already fixated on generating memes that infantilize the president, began churning out the jokes.

It was less “low-hanging fruit” and more “an entire tree’s worth of apples just fell into our basket.”

Go ahead. Pretend this isn’t just about the funniest thing to happen so far this year.

Are there other issues of national importance to be focusing on right now? There sure are. Right after these next few.

Okay, that’s it. No more. We’re done. Back to healthcare. But on the other hand…

Alright. For real this time. Go watch C-SPAN.
