Genshin Impact 2.6 is dead. After the worst of the Shanghai COVID-19 crisis (which is still happening) and the never-ending Ayaka banner, HoYoverse is back in business. The Genshin Impact community is hyped for Hydro bow-user Yelan and Electro sword healer Kuki Shinobu along with the new content confirmed in the Genshin Impact 2.7 livestream. As always, HoYoverse has a hefty lineup of updates and events ready to entertain its player base and give its characters some love.

Here’s everything you need to know about the release date, characters, and potential content coming in Genshin Impact version 2.7.

When is the Genshin Impact version 2.7 update?

The Genshin Impact 2.7 update will launch on May 31, 2022. HoYoverse expects it to take the standard 5 hours, so it should start at about 6 p.m. EST and end around 11 p.m EST. Players should expect the standard 300 Primogems after the update goes live.

Genshin Impact Version 2.7 was originally expected to drop on May 11, 2022. However, for the first time in Genshin Impact history, it was delayed. HoYoverse confirmed the delay a day before the livestream was expected to air and only updated the playerbase on the new update and livestream dates yesterday. It’s widely assumed that the recent COVID outbreak in Shanghai, where the company resides, led to the delay.

What are the Genshin Impact version 2.7 character banners?

HoYoverse

Leakers were right on target. Yelan is the featured five-star for the first half of Version 2.7. Our favorite Genshin short king, Xiao, will rerun with her. Meanwhile, Kuki Shinobu will debut as one of the three four-stars on Arataki Itto’s banner in the second half.

  • Phase 1: Yelan/Xiao (5-star)
  • Phase 2: Arataki Itto (5-star) with Kuki Shinobu (4-star)

Kazuha is now speculated to rerun in Version 2.8. It was previously believed that Kazuha would rerun alongside one of the Kamisato siblings in Version 2.6. However, that ended up being false. Leakers also doubted he would appear in Version 2.7, which is now confirmed. Now they think Kazuha has been pushed to 2.8 along with Shikanoin Heizou.

What are the Genshin Impact version 2.7 quests?

The latest Archon Quest Interlude Chapter continues the main story in the Chasm. The Traveler and Paimon form an unlikely team with Yelan, Arataki Itto, Kuki Shinobu, and Yanfei for a Chasm-related deep dive into Liyue’s history. Eventually, the gang runs into Xiao while he’s conducting his own research in the mines. Expect to uncover more Yakusha-related secrets among more worldly matters deep in the Chasm. Yelan plays a major role in the Interlude but also has her own story quest coming in Genshin Impact 2.7.

On a smaller note, Kuki Shinobu will also get her own hangout events this season. There, you can get to know the well-educated deputy of the Arataki Gang and perhaps see her talents in action.

What are the new Genshin Impact version 2.7 weapons?

Many five-star characters debut with a unique five-star weapon that compliments their kit. In this case, Yelan will debut with the five-star bow, Aqua Simulacra (a.k.a the previously leaked “Kirin Bow”). Players can also claim a free bow called Fading Twilight from the “Perilous Trail” event.

Aqua Simulacra

As per the latest info on Honey Hunter, Aqua Simulacra boasts Crit DMG that surpasses 88 percent when fully leveled. Its passive ability raises HP by 16 percent, which compliments Yelan’s already high HP for a bow user. Aqua Simulacra also boosts its user’s damage by 20 percent, even when off the field.

Fading Twilight

Early leaks paint Fading Twilight as a four-star weapon with a modest Energy Recharge substat and damage boost included in its passive ability. It switches between three stages with different damage bonuses every seven seconds, so long as the user consistently hits the enemy.

What are the Genshin Impact version 2.7 events?

Like many past updates, Genshin Impact 2.7 features a story-heavy headliner event along with smaller events that help develop characters or throw valuable resources at participants:

  • Perilous Trail
  • Almighty Arataki Great and Glorious Drumalong Festival
  • A Muddy Bizarre Adventure
  • Core of the Apparatus

Perilous Trail

Perilous Trail,” which ties in with the new Archon Quest Chapter, is the biggest event for Genshin Impact 2.7. It includes dungeons similar to the setup in the Spiral Abyss, where characters split into teams to complete combat challenges. Players are expected to adjust based on buffs and debuffs associated with each stage.

Almighty Arataki Great and Glorious Drumalong Festival

There’s also a festival hosted by Inazuma’s resident himbo himself, Arataki Itto. The festival organizer claims the “Almighty Arataki Great and Glorious Drumalong Festival” is greater than the Irodori Festival and the Lantern Rite celebrations. It features a tribal drum rhythm game where players can eventually claim the drum as a reward, much like the Lyre from the Windblume Festival.

Smaller events

Two smaller events were also mentioned along with the other two. “Core of the Apparatus” tasks Travelers with collecting materials for building robots. Rewards include event-exclusive blueprints for the Serenitea Pot. Meanwhile, “A Muddy Bizarre Adventure” is an exploration challenge, much like the Bokuso Box event, where players investigate “dangerous mud.” It also hints at details about the unreleased country of Sumeru like the “Spices of the West” event.

As more information is made available about Version 2.7, we’ll update this article accordingly.
