Marvel Film Stars Are Expected to Reprise Their Roles on Disney's Streaming
Thanos may have wiped out half the Marvel Universe, but he’s not strong enough to stop Disney from producing new Marvel TV shows with the Avengers. A new report indicates Disney will produce new original shows based on the successful Marvel film franchise for its upcoming streaming service. And yes, most, if not all the Marvel film stars are expected to star, Tom Hiddleston’s Loki included.
On Tuesday, Variety reported that Disney is producing original Marvel shows for its streaming service in 2019, citing anonymous sources. Two shows Variety learned about are shows centered on psychic Avenger, Scarlet Witch/Wanda, played by Elizabeth Olsen, and Loki, played famously by Tom Hiddleston.
Deep in Variety’s reporting is a crucial, however unconfirmed detail that both Hiddleston and Olsen, as well as other stars from the films, are expected to reprise their roles for the TV shows. Also, none of them will star major characters like Captain America and Iron Man, instead focusing on second-tier characters.
So, yes, Loki stans, if these reports pan out, your favorite Asgardian will get his own television series. It’s also good news for anyone a fan of non-headlining Marvel heroes, as the ever-growing cast leads to unprecedented speculation about the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
