'Last Jedi': 14 Deleted Scenes Might Not Be What Fans Want
Did anyone ask for MORE Canto Bight?
As promised, the Blu-ray, home video release for Star Wars: The Last Jedi will have a ton of deleted scenes. But, will these be the deleted scenes Star Wars fans are looking for?
On Thursday, the titles for all 14 Last Jedi deleted scenes were revealed by fan-site StarWarsNews.net. Based on just these titles, there’s one piece of Star Wars history being made: fans will be treated to a totally different opening scene. In the theatrical release, the movie begins with the evacuation of the Resistance base, meaning Carrie Fisher’s daughter, Billie Lourd (as Connix) is the first person to speak in her mom’s last movie.
But what about the rest of the deleted scenes? Will this be everything fans dreamed of? Here are all the titles of the deleted scenes.

The most obvious takeaway from these titles is that there was a lot of footage of the most controversial location of the movie: the casino planet, Canto Bight. So, if fans were hoping for less Canto Bight on the Blu-ray of The Last Jedi, it looks like we’re getting a lot more, instead.
The much-discussed scene in which Rey runs on the beach toward the Caretaker village comes as no surprise, but beyond that, we’ll get to see more action between Rey and Chewie and the aquatic creatures she pisses off so regularly on the planet Ahch-to.
See ya, Kylo.
There doesn’t look to be any deleted scenes with Rey and Kylo Ren, Luke and Yoda, or perhaps most surprising for any Star Wars movie; R2-D2 and C-3PO.
Fans might also be disappointed that there don’t appear to be any deleted scenes dealing with the flashbacks to Ben Solo’s time as an apprentice training under Luke Skywalker. Meaning, the flashbacks in the final film are all we’re going to get of Kylo Ren wearing something other than black leather.
The list of deleted scenes also confirms what director Rian Johnson told Inverse in December: there are not any deleted scenes featuring Carrie Fisher in her final performance as Leia.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi is will be available for digital download on March 13 and the physical Blu-ray and DVD is out on March 27.
