Expect 'Stranger Things' to Creep Past Season 4 on Netflix

Netflix

The Stranger Things kids might be all grown up and rambling about “the lights” for longer than anyone anticipated. Netflix has officially promised its hit show Stranger Things will carry on for a total of five seasons.

Back in August, co-creators Ross and Matt Duffer (aka the Duffer brothers) “confirmed” that Stranger Things would be getting a third (and possibly a fourth) season before coming to an end.

Apparently, that wasn’t good enough. According to Stranger Things executive producer Shawn Levy, Netflix is eyeing Season 5 as the final romp around Hawkins, Indiana.

“Hearts were heard breaking in Netflix headquarters when the Brothers made four seasons sound like an official end, and I was suddenly getting phone calls from our actors’ agents,” Levy told Entertainment Weekly in an article published Thursday. “The truth is we’re definitely going four seasons and there’s very much the possibility of a fifth. Beyond that, it becomes I think very unlikely.”

Depending on how long a time period the total five seasons carry on for, the kids might end up trading their bikes in for some real wheels. They can only hope.

Stranger Things Season 2 premieres on Netflix on October 27.
