Here's When 'Star Wars: The Clone Wars' Will Leave Netflix

Lucasfilm

The story of Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano’s friendship will soon be a lot harder to watch. All six seasons of Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series are leaving Netflix.

The Clones Wars is set to leave Netflix on Thursday, September 7, removing an important piece of Star Wars canon from the American version of the popular streaming service. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will still be available to stream without an end date in sight, so at least you’ll be able to cry over the fate of Jyn Erso and her newfound allies.

Netflix gained the rights to stream The Clones Wars in 2014 — including the previously unaired sixth season, “The Lost Missions” — two years after the series was canceled on Cartoon Network.

It’s unclear whether or not The Clone Wars’s disappearance is due to the recent announcement that Disney would be removing its titles from Netflix in 2019 to launch its own streaming platform. But since the series’ prequel film, also titled Star Wars: The Clone Wars, will still be available past September 7, it seems unlikely.

Netflix

It’s worth noting that The Clones Wars series was set to leave Netflix back in March 2016, as well, but, miraculously, stayed around for more than a year after the fact. The show might be saved from leaving Netflix, but try not to get your hopes up too high.

Star Wars: The Clones Wars series will be available to stream on Netflix until September 7.
