'Legends of Tomorrow' Season 2 Arrives on Netflix This Week

The CW

All aboard the Waverider! The newest season of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will be available on Netflix starting, well, tomorrow, April 13. So there’s no need to time travel into the future to binge watch one of the most exciting live-action DC Comics shows on the air.

The early arrival of Legends of Tomorrow Season 2, which finished just last week, is part of an agreement between Netflix and The CW announced last summer in which the newest seasons of The CW’s shows become available on Netflix eight days after the finale. Legends of Tomorrow will be the first of the Fall 2016 Arrowverse to hit Netflix, but it’ll be a while until the new seasons of Arrow, The Flash, and Supergirl also become available to stream. Those shows’ season finales aren’t scheduled to air until much later in May.

But Season 2 of Legends of Tomorrow was noteworthy. A vast improvement over the show’s awkward first season, Legends of Tomorrow kicks off its new season searching for the missing Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) who winds up in control of a new alliance of supervillains called the Legion of Doom. Made up of Eobard Thawne (Matt Leistcher) and Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) from The Flash with Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman) and Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough) from Arrow, the Legion of Doom hunts for the Spear of Destiny to gain control of reality itself.

Also in Legends of Tomorrow is the legendary Justice Society of America. New heroes Vixen (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) and Citizen Steel (Nick Zano) join the team, while Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) assumes the role of captain of the Waverider. Halfway through the season is the epic “Invasion!” crossover with the other CW shows. Legends of Tomorrow held the last episode of the team-up event.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow Season 2 will hit Netflix on April 13, 2017.
